I don't know if it happens with 0.9.1 too because I've never tried
0.9.1.  :)  However I can certainly give it a go.

What I do know, though, is that I do not have this low-volume sound
problem with other sound apps (neither those that use ALSA natively or
those that use OSS).

I will try 0.9.1 later today.
