Hi there, I have used your DVD software Ogle before with Mandrake 9.0 and Mandrake 9.1 which I installed using the Redhat RPM's from your website. It worked previously okay, in fact I had to use it because the XINE program that came with those versions of mandrake did not work and would crash all the time. I had a few problems when I tried Ogle with the new version of Mandrake 9.2 however. I did a clean install on an ext3 partition of Mandrake and first tried the RPM files, then compiling Ogle from the source code. When I try to play a DVD using Ogle the program gui launches okay, then I 'open disc' however just as the DVD starts to play Ogle exits gracefully with the following displayed in the terminal window. [root@localhost root]# ogle WARNING[dvd_gui]: add_keybinding(): No such action: 'SaveScreenshot' WARNING[dvd_gui]: add_keybinding(): No such action: 'SaveScreenshotWithSPU' libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access libdvdread: Attempting to retrieve all CSS keys libdvdread: This can take a _long_ time, please be patient libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.VOB at 0x0000012d libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.VOB at 0x00000161 libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB at 0x000711c3 libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Found 1 VTS's libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 No accelerated IMDCT transform found Xscreensaver not running. ####!!#!!##!ERROR[ogle_audio]: Opening alsa pcm device 'default': No such file or directory FATAL[ogle_audio]: failed opening the alsa audio driver at default ctrl: ipc_rmid: Invalid argument [root@localhost root]# As far as I am aware all the correct libraries are present, however I am not an expert in Linux. Ironically, my main reason for installing Linux was to use it to view DVDs without splashing out on Windows software, and now on Mandrake 9.2 Xine seems to work okay and not crash! Still, I would like to be able to use Ogle again, but no worries if I can't. My system is: Athlon 900MHz Abit KT7-RAID motherboard S3 Savage 4 graphics card 32Mb 256 Mb SDRAM Creative 16 plug and play sound blaster LG DVD rom as master on secondary IDE (UDMA 33) Sony CDR/RW as master on primary IDE (UDMA 33) Seagate hard disk as master on RAID0 Mandrake 9.2 installed from 4 CD download set, created from DVD on Linux Format coverdisk recently. Many thanks for your time. Regards, James Head
