Autostart DVD Playback when inserting media

Hi all,

i searched nearly the whole web for a little App or Script that checks
for media changes, checks the new inserted media and starts a defined
app (e.g. Ogle for a DVD). But so far i didn't find something.
Do anyone know such an app? I knew something about an autostarter
coming with KDE but i don't want to use KDE only for this feature.
I use my linuxbox as a standalone Media-Server for video (using
MythTV). It's fully controlled via remote on the TV Screen.

Any hint would be very helpfull!
