slow dvd output

I have a Celeron 666 Mhz (256 Mb RAM) running the slackware 9.1 and the new 2.6 linux kernel. I also have a NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX. (with linux driver version 1.0-4496) The problem that I have is that the video output is really slow. According to different things I found on the net, I've checked that my DVD has DMA on, I've set XV_DOUBLE_BUFFER to 0 but it still really slow. I've know that this problem doesn't come from my hardware because I can read DVDs with PowerDVD under WinXP. Hope someone can help me. PS: I run the latest ogle version.
