Yes, lack of examples, I haven't read any documentation (though I
haven't looked for it either).  Lack of time would be another reason ;)

A good way to start would be to find/make a short summary of what the
differences between 'VR mode DVD's and 'normal DVD's are.

First thing then would be to make any required changes to libdvdread
so that VOBs/IFOs can be read.  Then any modifications to the nav code
in Ogle (ogle/vmg/[nav.c|vm.c|...]).
