can't hear surround speakers

I've installed ogle from code just fine, and am wondering if it will 
support 5.1 sound through the sound card. I'm using onboard AC97 (VIA) 
as a card, and would like to use ogle in my MythTV/KnoppMyth box. I 
thought I had the mixers set up right for that (aumix and 
alsamixergui), but I'm not sure if I have to change some files so all 
the bits and pieces along the way output to 5.1 speakers. I've looked 
around on the archives, and google, but can't seem to find an answer. 
If I've missed something please let me know. Thanks in advance.
