Splash at beginning of movie confuses Ogle

I'm seeing a strange problem with more than half the movies I try to
play with Ogle. If I simply start the program and let it run, the
initial flashy graphic sequence that's at the beginning of many DVDs
before the menu appears seems to confuse Ogle. The graphic itself
plays perfectly (complete with sound), but when it finishes and the
menu appears, Ogle is playing in a jerky fashion and much faster than
normal. The sound is gone at that point, too. Once it's in that
mode, I'm not able to restore proper playback using the keys that
control the speed.
I found a way to avoid the problem, though. If I start the DVD
playing and then hit the "T" key almost immediately, Ogle will skip to
the title menu before playing whatever it is that would have confused
it. Once I've made it safely to the title menu, I'm home free.
Everything works perfectly after that.
I'm pretty sure I have the latest releases of everything:
ogle 0.9.2
libdvdread 0.9.4
libdvdcss 1.2.8
My system is an IBM T30 running a FreeBSD-4.9 release candidate with
XFree86-4.3.0. The "pciconf" command identifies the graphics chip as
an ATI Radeon Mobility M7 LW. I run the display with a color depth of
24 bits.
Attached are two logs produced by "ogle --debug". For one of
them, "ogle-bad.log", I let the failure occur. For the other one,
"ogle-good.log", I hit the "T" key at the right time to prevent the
failure. Maybe by comparing the two logs you can figure out what's
going wrong.
