With the example you recommended for 4.0, and the alsa device surround40
or default, I get normal stereo sound, which is an improvement.  With
any other choice of device or speaker number I get a pulsing sound
problem that is probably related to these errors coming out continuously:

Note[ogle_audio]: xrun_recovery: Broken pipe

So I'll work with 4.0 for now.  At this point I'm not sure whether it's
Ogle's fault that I'm not getting audio on the other channels or some
problem with alsa or my motherboard.  I'll write back when I have tested
it with another program.
