Hi All ! So I will report the news from the front line ;-) First, I was able to play a DVD copied to harddisk. So I thought it was hardware related ... But, as it was not the same from which I got errors, I pursued my researches.... I used new libraries from Livna (I've got automated updates using livna depot) and a new 2.6.6 kernel. This time, I was able to see my Thomas Crown affair DVD using Ogle ! Yes ! But as I'm a guy we likes fun i decided to install Videolan client. The tarball I got contained a lot of RPMs some of which complaining about broken dependencies (I _do not_ install using the --nodeps or --force they suggest ;-) ) I was obliged to suppress : a52dec-devel-0.7.4-0.lvn.7.2 libmad-devel-0.15.1-0-lvn.1.b.2 speex-devel-1.0.3-2.1 because Videolan client provided newer libraries and not the devel libraries ... a52dec-0.7.4-6.1.fc2.fr speex-1.1.5-1 libmad-0.15.1b-2.1.fc2.fr And you know what ? Ogle gives me a black screen (with some sound) and freeze with these messages : [georges@menfin log]$ ogle WARNING[dvd_gui]: add_keybinding(): No such action: 'SaveScreenshot' WARNING[dvd_gui]: add_keybinding(): No such action: 'SaveScreenshotWithSPU' libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access libdvdread: Could not open /dev/dvd with libdvdcss. libdvdread: Can't open /dev/dvd for reading ERROR[ogle_nav]: faild to open/read the DVD callbacks.on_opendvd_activate(): DVDSetDVDRoot: Root not set libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access libdvdread: Attempting to retrieve all CSS keys libdvdread: This can take a _long_ time, please be patient libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.VOB at 0x0000013e libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.VOB at 0x00025633 libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB at 0x00025cea libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_0.VOB at 0x003b7d1d libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_1.VOB at 0x003b7d23 libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_03_0.VOB at 0x003b7e7a libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Get key for /VIDEO_TS/VTS_03_1.VOB at 0x003b7e80 libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 libdvdread: Found 3 VTS's libdvdread: Elapsed time 0 Xscreensaver not running. I've to add that Videolan runs fine as do Xine and Mplayer... So I'm tempted to think that the problem lies between the lib I used from Livna and the libs I load from Videolan ... Do you think I may have some success using the Livna libs ? O will I broke all my setup ? Thanks for having read all this stuff ! HAve a nice day !
