no sound audible, lots of garbage output to console, video plays

Hi

When I run ogle, I get no sound, and a whole lot of garbage characters 
are output to the console window.  The video plays at a low frame rate, 
but it isn't unbareable.

I downloaded and installed all of the slackware packages on 
http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/groups/dvd/slackware.shtml .

The computer is a
IBM T20 Laptop
DVD-Rom
700mhz Pentium 3
256MB RAM

Only thing is, I have slackware 10, and there were only slackware 9.0 
packages listed on your site.  Everything seems to be working, though, 
so I don't think that is the problem.

Any ideas?
