Dear Sirs, under which conditions does ILM release the OpenEXR example images found http://www.openexr.com/downloads.html? Background for this question is the following: As a member of the German delegation of the JPEG committee (ISO SC29/WG01) I'm currently looking into the evaluation of floating-point based high-dynamic range compression algorithms. However, finding suitable test material turned out to be quite hard. OpenEXR and the openEXR sample images look like an excellent source the JPEG should consider - however the licensing conditions of the posted images are unfortunately not clear enough to allow this right away. Hence, I'm kindly asking you under which conditions it is acceptable to: o) use the images as test material for internal testing in the ISO only and/or o) use the images as test material in scientific publications? and/or o) reprint the images as part of a scientific publication? Could you provide me with a contact point who could provide definite answers for the above questions? Best regards, and greetings from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, Thomas Richter
