Which gcc version to use for ARM?

Hi! I desperately try to compile picogui for an ARM-target - I have 3 compilers (LINEOS-gcc, my own gcc2.95.3 and a uClibc-gcc2.95.3) and all 3 have this error: /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=compile /home/fritz/arm/arm-linux-ulibc/bin/arm-uclibc-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../include -I../include -I/usr/include -I/usr/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT -O2 -g -c ttykb.c /home/fritz/arm/arm-linux-ulibc/bin/arm-uclibc-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../include -I../include -I/usr/include -I/usr/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT -O2 -g -Wp,-MD,.deps/ttykb.pp -c ttykb.c -o ttykb.o /tmp/cc0pdcou.s: Assembler messages: /tmp/cc0pdcou.s:1039: Error: bad instruction `btsl r3,[r1,r2,asl#2]' (The error looks the same on all 3 compilers) After some digging, it all seems that gcc fails at it's own temporary assembler code - which looks like a compiler-bug. (If anybody can confirm that, that would also be great) If anybody compiled picogui for arm, please post the exact versions of gcc and glibc. Also, did anybody try picogui with uClibc? Thanks a lot.
