I know that's what Lalo and I want to do the most- over the months and
years I've seen several parts of picogui that just need to be rewritten.
Most notably it's rendering engine. I have spiffy designs for all the
new components, just hadn't found the time to implement. The turning
point was when lalo and I started talking about a completely new
microkernel-like architecture. We then decided that instaed of
incremental overhauling, picogui needed a mostly-complete rewrite.

Now the problem with this is that (apparently) people are using the
existing code, so we have to divide effort between making the current
code stable and starting the new architecture. Hence the plans for 1.0
and 2.0 releases.

It would really be nice if we could have separate teams for 1.0 and 2.0
development, but that would require more manpower, and documentation on
the internals of the current code.
