> And just because a program can do something dosen't mean you need to. yikes.. not to get philosophical or anything, but, when it comes down to it, I'd prefer to have the ability to do more than what some programmer thinks I'll need to do, just for those times when I want to do something weird (which happens often for me at least). The compile time options lead me to believe that all the flashy features can be turned off for more minimal implimentations if desired, quite easily. It's hard to get around "well, hmm, we didn't program potentially-useful-option Foo in because it didn't seem absolutely necessary." That said, there is a fine line between possibly useful and completely useless, and it's no secret that development time is not an abundant resource for pg at the moment.
