Eh, dunno about this KDE/GNOME thing...
But the pg2 architecture should let you do some really cool things. For
example, the "object kernel" that stores all of the picogui widgets and
other data can also be used to store the application's own data. If we
require apps to store their important data in the object kernel, it
might be possible to move 'running' apps from one machine to another,
with all user data intact and an interface customized for the new
device. This would be great for PIMs.
The overhead for that could be very small if the Om connection between
application and object kernel used shared memory.
