Subversion's commands are much like CVS's commands, but more consistent
and more powerful :)

To check out the entire repository, you could run:

  svn co http://navi.picogui.org:8080/svn/picogui/

To check out just the trunk of the repository (no branches or tags),
you'd use:

  svn co http://navi.picogui.org:8080/svn/picogui/trunk/

Since every directory in the repository can be checked out like a
separate tree, you could even check out a single theme:

  svn co http://navi.picogui.org:8080/svn/picogui/trunk/pg1/themes/working/fluidity/

You don't need to check it out separately for anonymous access or
authenticated access- it will just prompt you for a username and
password whenever you try to commit. Navi is also running a virtual host
with SSL enabled. You can use https://navi.picogui.org:8443 for a secure
connection.

Unfortunately, the strange timeouts and slowness I had been beating my
head against came back, so you probably won't be able to do a successful
checkout. I got a chance to talk to Ben Collins-Sussman about the
problem on IRC, and he hasn't seen anything like it before :) At this
point it's looking like it could be something peculiar to the version of
libdb I have, or something specific to Debian. I'll be trying other
versions of libdb, and testing it on my Gentoo workstation in addition
to Debian.
