If you just don't specify any themes, widgets should appear as white boxes
with black borders.

There isn't a lcdmono.th in CVS... there's a lcdmono.ths that you should be
using themec to compile to lcdmono.th

If you think the theme itself is the problem, you can try a precompiled
theme from http://picogui.org/themes/lcdmono.th

If you want to run it on your desktop you just need a pgserver compiled for
your desktop.

If it's a mips-specific bug in pgserver, you could try and compile a gdb
stub for the helio, or you could use printf()s.
