I'm sorry but i have no clue what i have to fix, and which parameter to u=
se, i=20
try to explain:

I just backupped on hard disk many old cds/dvds, some cd are very old, 7+=
=20
years. Many of oldest were not fully readable anymore and data were lost.=

i discovered that polymer used to build cds got a timer on his life.. no=20
matter how good you care of them. Guys consider different solutions for y=
our=20
loveliest data if you want to travel your life with a recorded past.

Well, some of those could be copied till the end with some short hangs he=

and there. Those avi files are still usable, but index is broken (if i do=
n't fix=20
index with vlc then i can't jump around on movie).
I got a folder with 99 of those avi files, some a bit broken some working=
=20
perfectly.=20
The index have just to be rewritten with correct values after examining t=
he=20
files, one by one (like VLC does when telling to open a file, but that pr=
ogram=20
seems to work in read mode only).
I have to script it because i can't look into 99 files one by one what's=20
broken. By the way, how could i know what's broken?

(just note that those files were collected during many years, many encode=
d by=20
myself with different codecs/versions, some have been processed by other=20
people. I Started those files with the "hack" divx3.11, then xvid when di=
vx=20
were rewritten from scratch with mpeg4 standards and become open source a=
nd=20
could be forked. Audio may be mp3/ac3/ogg and so on... those files got ma=
ny=20
"technical flavours" ;) ).

Does avifix fit my needs?
