Initial Comment:
When used with French configuration (SECAM and predefined frequencies), tvtime shows nothing.
tvtime-scanner finds channels but tvtime shows nothing.

Utilise tvtime 1.0.2.

Hi,

I just replaced a working TV card (Pinnacle SAA7131) with the problamatic
card and its working now. 

I assumed this is because I did rescan the channels using the SAA7131.
So I retried the scan again with bt878 card and tested again

bash-3.2$ tvtime-scanner --norm=PAL
Reading configuration from /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml
Reading configuration from /home/ed/.tvtime/tvtime.xml
Scanning using TV standard PAL.
Scanning from  44.00 MHz to 958.00 MHz.
Found a channel at 487.00 MHz (485.75 - 488.00 MHz), adding to channel
list.
Found a channel at 502.00 MHz (500.75 - 503.00 MHz), adding to channel
list.
...
Found a channel at 771.50 MHz (770.25 - 772.50 MHz), adding to channel
list.
Found a channel at 790.50 MHz (789.25 - 791.50 MHz), adding to channel
list.
Found a channel at 801.00 MHz (799.75 - 802.00 MHz), adding to channel
list.

Now the problem comes back ... I can hear the sound for the channel but
the screen stays blue while showing the channel information.

I have compared the station.xml files and the difference seems to be the
channel number. ie.
bash-3.2$ diff stationlist.xml stationlist.xml.saa-working  | grep 801
<     <station name="801.00MHz" active="1" position="41" band="Custom"
channel="801.00MHz" finetune="0" norm="PAL" audio="auto"/>

The tvtime.xml is also the same (except for Channel and PrevChannel)

Setting CheckForSignal=0 did not make a difference
Setting the Horizontal resolution to 360 also did not fix the problem
Also the combination of the 2 did not work

However after rebooting the machine it works now ...
Can this problem somehow be caused by running tvtime-scanner ?

What does "no picture" mean, can you switch through the channels in tvtime?
Try setting "Input Horizontal Resolution" a bit lower or set
"CheckForSignal" to "0".

After further researches:

It seems tvtime and all other tv programs (xawtv...) does not work with
linux kernel 2.6.30 on Debian testing.
tvtime and other tv programs work well with linux kernel 2.6.26.

So, I think the BUG more belongs to the kernel development community ?
