Summary: tvtime crashes on start when usb soundard (webcam) plugged

Initial Comment:
When USB soundcard or webcam is plugged (and possibly in a number of other situations) in tvtime crashes at startup giving no error.
This error persists in Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat (10.10) repository as in tvtime version 1.0.2-6.1ubuntu1, previously reported in Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04) as in tvtime version 1.0.2-5ubuntu2, older packages like 1.0.2-5ubuntu1 and lower worked without problems.

There is a workaround posted by Whoopie on Launchpad (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tvtime/+bug/552060 - comment #13), in his testing PPA, there is a patched version of tvtime, package version 1.0.2-5ubuntu2.1 (https://launchpad.net/~whoopie79/+archive/testing)
