I'm not very active in the list, but I think that without having any kind of picture of what you've seen it's very hard to tell.. Also, I think it's very difficult to catch a text signal encoded into image with your camera receiver, but not impossible.. What I mean is if somebody wants to send only text, there are a lot of other ways better than encoding it into a video stream.. Maybe you can post an example, or you can try google-ing part of the data to see what can be. Good luck! P.S. Maybe it's an alien ship near the tree field sending his coordinates! :O :P On Mon, Jul 18, 2011 at 09:01:57AM -0700, Stephen Goble wrote: > Ok, this is weird, which is why I didn't put it under the bugs. At first I thought it was a CC bug but, it is all over the screen and it happens with CC turned off also. I have screen captures but I get the impression they may contain data so until I know what that data is, I don't really want to post them. I may have decoded a network address and network broadcast address out of it however, along with what appear to be hex color codes possibly, but not of the color the txt is in on the screen, if.... > > I am only asking you all because I am wondering if it is something you have ever heard of before and because I figure you all would know better than anyone if your program could be glitching and displaying code. > > I have another weird happening, it is wifi related, but I am trying not to jump to conclusions as to if they are related. > > I have NEVER seen a wifi camera pick up data and display it as text. The camera has no ability to decipher it even, but then how is it there? It has no CC functions obviously. The PC is down right now this tuner is on so I can not set up and recreate this, and even when I was watching before, it is totally unpredictable when it would happen. It is not like ALL network traffic is showing up, if that is what it is. Just once every few weeks or something, some strange code pops up.... > > I live out of range of any other neighbors wifi signal.
