Hi j-b,

I am a student at the Islamic University of Technology, studying Computer
Science and Engineering in my 2nd year. I have the RISC-V Foundational
Associate certification from the Linux Foundation and some experience with
RVV assembly.

I am interested in joining GSOC 2026 on dav1d and dav2d RISC-V optimizations.
I am assuming its about filling in the required implementations for
issue #435 regarding RVV SIMD. Could you please tell me more about
these 2 projects?

I have already built dav1d and run the tests properly (except 9 timeouts).

Also, I am wondering if having RVV Hardware is mandatory for the project?

Thank you

Najmus Sakib Afsan
