Yes.  It is on my internal network.  I have ssh'ed from one box to the other 
in both directions with success.  You would not be able to ping it because it 
is not a public IP!  

Thanks for taking the trouble.  But I thought that I was entering the IP of 
the place I wanted to stream _from_.  Is that the problem?

I have pinged the target from another box on the network.  I can't at the 
moment ping from the one with the error message, because it is my husband's 
computer and he is currently using it!
