I've tried pinging the IP, and I get a 100% loss rate. Are > you sure the place you're trying to access is working? Yes. It is on my internal network. I have ssh'ed from one box to the other in both directions with success. You would not be able to ping it because it is not a public IP! Thanks for taking the trouble. But I thought that I was entering the IP of the place I wanted to stream _from_. Is that the problem? I have pinged the target from another box on the network. I can't at the moment ping from the one with the error message, because it is my husband's computer and he is currently using it! <quote> lisi@Junior:~$ ping 192.168.0.9 PING 192.168.0.9 (192.168.0.9) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 192.168.0.9: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=4.23 ms 64 bytes from 192.168.0.9: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.171 ms 64 bytes from 192.168.0.9: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.215 ms 64 bytes from 192.168.0.9: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=0.173 ms 64 bytes from 192.168.0.9: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=0.216 ms ^C --- 192.168.0.9 ping statistics --- 5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 3999ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.171/1.001/4.233/1.616 ms lisi@Junior:~$ </quote> Thanks for the help. :-) Lisi ______________________________________________________ vlc mailing list To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options: http://mailman.videolan.org/listinfo/vlc
