I am using

# rpm -q vlc

vlc-1.1.13-3.fc16.i686

I tried the URL in smplayer.

Smplayer says connecting, but then nothing happens.

Ditto with Amarok.

Which distro are you using? It may not have been compiled with
network support.

You may also try smplayer, amarok and banshee.

For debugging, start vlc from the commandline with the debug
switch set.

Hi all.

My isp is comcast.

The VLC media -> Internet -> Freebox TV

displays no stations.

So, I googled, and found a message on the forum

http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=81352

responding to another OP with the same problem. The
response is:

You can simply try using this URL as an alternative
solution:

http://mafreebox.freebox.fr/freeboxtv/playlist.m3u

----------

and the original OP seeking an answer claims that that
worked.

Well, for me, it does not work at all.

What I get from the above URL is an FM station, not sure
which, and an error banner stating:

Your input can't be opened:

VLC is unable to open the MRL ' http://mafreebox.freebox.fr/freeboxtv/playlist.m3u '.
Check the log for details.

I have no idea where the log is, as I cannot find it in
~/.vlc or in ~/.vlc/cache

nor is there a log in /var/log for vlc.
