getting vlc to work with an ip camera

I've recently acquired some of these: http://www.conrad.ch/ce/de/product/754134/Ueberwachungskamera-IR-LAN-Farb-Kamera-IP66-Aufloesung-max-640-x-480-Pixel They are supposedly uPnP, which I have verified with tcpdump (ssdp broadcast). However, vlc doesn't seem to see them. (it does see my mythtv box though).
