I have tried multiple documents describing multiple ways to compile vlc for windows yet have not found one that details a working solution. Currently trying with MinGW on windows. Will let you know if this works. It has been very frustrating trying to build a cross-compile environment. It would be nice is there was a standard environment that could be wrapped up as a VM that could be downloaded and executed, but so far, no luck.
