I got some of the dependencies built, schroedinger being the exception since it apparently keeps crashing my litetalk speech synthesizr and maybe the computer as well. The orc dependency was no problem but schroedinger is a real can of worms. The litetalk runs on a serial port and I could switch it to ttyS1 on the slackware box if that would help. I'm more likely to attach the litetalk to a dos box and attach the dos box to the slackware box by serial cable and try the build again though to see if I can find out what is happening. I'm using http://www.slackbuilds.org for this stuff too, so that's the source of the scripts and others home pages get the original files the scripts build. For those of us living in the United States there is a problem with libdba (patents). I'm curious if that's the only dependency vlc has that's a problem and also curious if vlc can be built without all of the problem dependencies and work to some minimal level after the build. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- jude <[email protected]> ______________________________________________________ vlc mailing list To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options: https://mailman.videolan.org/listinfo/vlc
