Hi all,

two days ago I had the problem that on my server vlcs needs very much
cpu-power
(more than 80% on a P4-1500). Sam's workaround (using nohup for starting
the server)
seemed to solve the problem, but as I have seen today, the problem is
back again.

I have now done some testing, and I think I can describe the
problem more detailed:
- When starting vlcs, it needs only very little cpu-power and works fine
- As soon as I try to log out from the server, the telnet-session hangs
- When I afterwards close the telnet-window manually (by pressing the
close button),
vlcs starts to consume very much cpu-power (but works properly)

The described problem is independent from the way I start vlcs. I have
tried the following commands:
./vlcs > /var/log/vlcs 2>&1 &
./vlcs &> /var/log/vlcs &
nohup ./vlcs &

My system is a suse-linux 7.3 (kernel 2.4.10-4GB) on a Pentium 4-1500

Any ideas?

	Stephan
