-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 In case it is useful, I have included dll information for vls.exe on my system for the bug that I sent previously. ========================================== I realize this is a problem in my config, but it's also shows a bug in the program: in my vls.cfg file, I create a user, "Administrator" of group "master" with a line: ~ administrator = ":master" ~ (I was originally trying to create a user with a blank password.) Detailed information about my system configuration is at the bottom of this message. When I run vls.exe, the program crashes almost immediately. The terminal window shows: VideoLAN Server v 0.3.1 (Apr 27 2002) - (c)1999-2001 VideoLAN 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Module "channel:file" registered 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Module "channel:network" registered 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Module "mpegreader:file" registered 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Module "mpegconverter:ts2ts" registered 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Module "mpegconverter:ps2ts" registered 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Module "input:local" registered 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Module "input:video" registered 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Browsing modules in directory "." 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Browsing modules in directory "/usr/local/lib/vi deolan/vls" 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Channel 'localhost' created 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Starting input 'local1' 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Input 'local1' sucessfully initialised 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] New admin group "monitor" is ok 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] New admin group "master" is ok 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] New admin user "monitor" is ok 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] New admin user "bozo" is ok 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [ERROR/Vls] Admin user "administrator" not valid (the group ~ "" doesn't exists 0 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Stopping the manager 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Manager stopped 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Destroying administrator module 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Shutdowning all the opened sessions... 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [ERROR/Vls] Error during telnet server destruction: Error: Socket could not be closed properly: An operation was attempted on someth ing that is not a socket. 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Destroying manager module 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Destroying the manager 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Input local1 correctly stopped 2002-07-29 09:20:19 [INFO/Vls] Manager destroyed =================================================== My configuration: Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002; Latest patches as of 2002/07/25 CYGWIN_NT-5.1 BRYSON 1.3.9(0.51/3/2) 2002-01-21 12:48 i686 unknown (note that in the following section, the psinfo.exe tool is incorrect in identifying my OS a professional edition.
