Re: vls and DVB oddities

Hm, what is the relation of the CVS version when compared to reality? The
newest source release is 0.5.6 and the CVS version claims it is 0.5.5+cvs,
which sounds a little bit silly?

I tried the 0.5.6 version too, and it works very differently. It requires
an older libdvb version (even though the version is never?), the cvs
version worked nicely with the 0.5.4 version of libdvb.

This version of vls actually does not want to run some default commands
and seems to at least start streaming. Nothing is ever sent to the
network, so I assume it fails to tune to the channel.

From the log file one can also see that vls can't be stopped using C-c, it
happily says it will commit suicide, but never really does it. I always
have to kill it with -KILL.

IMHO says that vls should use the telnet interface, and the log file says
it at least stopped the telnet interface when it dies, so it should listen
on port localhost:9999, but a netstat check clearly shows it doesn't do
that, nor does it obviously accept incoming telnet requests.

What can I do to help debugging? Has anyone ever streamed DVB content or
is it still in the early stages of testing?

Is anyone even reading this list, or are you guys and girls just fed up
with my whining? Is vls still being developed?
