[streaming] Question about remote interfaces.

Hello:
 
What's the best approach to run VLC on a remote webserver ?
I know there's an HTML interface and also telent, but I have no clue how to
tackle this.
Currently I am straming from my own machine, but I'd like to stream only to
a remote - and more powerful-  server (my web honting service) running also
VLC 
and have ppl connect to the latter. Is that the right approach?  
 
Any help will be appreciated.
