Well, I see no reason why it would not be do-able, at the codec, demux or access level, depending on the implementation detail. However, I wonder whether it makes any sense: Whether streaming or storing, lower-layer checksums resp. error correction mechanism will make upper-layer error correction impossible resp. redundant.
