[streaming] vlc drops out at exactly 2:40 every day while streaming

While streaming 8 channels from a transponder vlc gets killed by the  
core at approximately 2:40 at night. vlc gets out of memory.
This happens at approximately 2:40 am local time ( 4 days in a row  
2:40,2:43,2:42,2:48) independent on the time set on the server (I've  
tried to change the system time).
What could be the problem? Something coming from the transponder at  
this time?
