[streaming] How-To: Reading the code

Hello All,

I am a beginner of VLC project and reading the VLC source code now.
I see in most modules there is Open() method. Inside of this method,
it invokes sout_StreamNew() to create module chain.
Can anyone tell me HOW the Open() method is triggered, such as who are
using it, how it starts.
I am really appreciate if you can suggest how to read the source code
for streaming (like broadcasting) or someone can roughly explain the
streaming process in VLC project.
