It is part of their official sample apps. 
You can encode aiff files to QDM2 with it.
If you remove your Quicktime.qts and install the Quicktime 3 player it also
can encode to QDMC.
I also have a c version that probably runs with mplayer's loader but there
are a few issues that need to be fixed first.
