I can easily create 8-bit samples as I have a SBPro in a machine right behind me... I can create 16-bit samples as well since I own a SB16 with ASP, but that card is in storage and would take a while to locate, as well as set up a 386 box with windows, so hopefully there's not immediate demand for that. If anyone wants samples, just let me know where to upload them. An interesting principle of Creative's 8-bit ADPCM files is that the DSP on the original Sound Blaster was only fast enough to do compression/decompression no more than 12KHz. So while you can artifically create files with higher rates (by patching the speed in the .VOC file), they play back at 12KHz. -- Jim Leonard ([email protected]) http://www.oldskool.org/ Want to help an ambitious games project? http://www.mobygames.com/ Or check out some trippy MindCandy at http://www.mindcandydvd.com/ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
