Done! File is "Creative 8-bit ADPCM samples.zip". I've included the software used to pack them, but read the READTHIS.BAT file to see why it will be difficult if not impossible to get it running without the original hardware. I've provided 8-/4-/3-/2-bit samples of two different pieces: one speech, one speech with music. The speech with music sample trails off into silence, so it should make things easier to start reverse-engineering. If anyone figures this out, *please* let me know as I have been wondering how it works (I have a thing for 8-bit audio compression). Creative never released the details of the compression in any SDK. -- Jim Leonard ([email protected]) http://www.oldskool.org/ Want to help an ambitious games project? http://www.mobygames.com/ Or check out some trippy MindCandy at http://www.mindcandydvd.com/ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
