Hi Xine developers

Concerning: Project about usability in distributed software development

We are a three students at the Department of Computer Science at Aalborg
University in Denmark, who as a part of our master thesis are doing a survey
about the process of usability development in software projects where the
developers are working in a distributed way. We are particularly interested in
the open source development model and one of the goals of our thesis is to do
an analysis of the way usability is (or is not) a part of open source software
projects.

We hope to be able to point out new ways for developers to use usability testing
and we would like to think of alternative methods to distribute and communicate
results to other developers. For more information about our project feel free
to contact us at [email protected], or visit our project website at
http://www.cs.aau.dk/~sieker

In this stage of the project we are looking for members of open source
development teams who are willing to spend about 15 minuttes to fill out an
online questionnaire.

Later in our project we will be looking for a single project team to use as a
case study. Most likely this will include interviews with developers and an
extensive usability test of the software system.

We hope to be able to publish the results of our project to the open source
community.

The questionnaire can be found here:

Kind regards
