Re: Xine seriously hates the Thor DVD - libdvdread needs refreshing.

I do at least know that this particular DVD is not faulty, having watched it successfully in totem.

The only reliable way to fix this is to send a copy of the problem
    DVD to the developer, i.e. me.
I have not come across a DVD that xine cannot play recently.
xine does not currently support damaged DVDs. I.e. Ones with sector
    errors.
For proper support of damaged DVDs, libdvdnav requires a lot of
    work, and I don't have time for that currently, but I should have
    enough time to get a single problem DVD to play.
