Consider that alioth (and with it hg.debian.org) is going away, and IIUC
the expected timeline for its retirement is somewhere in Spring 2018.
You should probably look to move somewhere else.
Somehow I couldn't manage to find a single email clearly saying "Alioth
is about to die" anywhere… but they told me they should send out
something soon.

Let's just keep it like that until either somebody complains or provide
a patch :)

Yeah, that's easy, but before updating the debian/*.install files I
always want to check that that's actually expected.
