Xine and true gapless

Any clues to as if amarok will be able to use xine and have it playback gaplessly in the near or far future? How about using any engine in the future for proper playback? If not, I'd really appreciate a heads up answer so's that I can move along elsewhere. I have been using it for a few years now and need to get my fingers uncrossed.
