problem with .mkv files.

I am having problems playing 720p .mkv files. The audio stops for a second
every now and then.
I have tried several different files and the problem is the same in xine-ui,
kaffeine and totem-xine. Xine plays 720p .mov files fine though.
The files all play fine in mplayer and vlc.
Am I the only one having this problem?
