Xshm offset rendering.

Hello all, I'm quite new to xine (client) development.
I have this implementation that uses Xv or Xshm (with or without xcb) to
render the video inside a rectangle over some gfx screen content. It all
works fine, but I have a problem:
 - with Xv I get some black painting (even outside the video rectangle)
 - with Xshm I can only render the image top-left aligned, with the wanted
size but 0 (x,y) offset

Do you know how to pan the Xshm rendering? or how to not get Xv to paint
outside its rectangle?

Thanks,
Enrico
