I think there are enough people using fbxine with Claudio Ciccani's
DirectFB output driver on X-less HTPCs, another example coming to mind
is the work done by Dirk Meyer Jason Tackaberry and Rob Shortt in the
Freevo project (a python based media center) to offer in the future
Freevo 2 version a rendering engine based on xine-lib, so that project
would too benefit of good DirectFB support. Another one which I
personally would love to see running on DirectFB only, is oxine (it
seems it builds, but doesn't run). You see, all theese scenarios are
targetted towards media-center appliances, where one doesn't necessarily
want to play 3D games or click on buttons, but just "consume" media
sitting on the couch and using the remote, that's why some prefer it X-less.

Just my 2 cents, thanks!
Lucian
