That tells me that you're using xv for video output. Running with "-V xshm"
(or "--video=xshm", depending on which player) should work, but xv is better.
Anyway, two things to check:
video.device.xv_colorkey
- compare with the value for XV_COLORKEY as reported by xvinfo; if they
differ at all, the value reported by xvinfo is correct. (Here, it
reports "current value is 30".)
video.device.xv_autopaint_colorkey
- try toggling this option (and restarting the player).
These options are in the settings/preferences window (its name depends on
which player you're using).
(That section of the FAQ list is in need of some update...)
