Well, it used to be that you went to the MPlayer website and downloaded the "essential codecs" pack. The MPlayer site seems to have changed since last I visited, but I think this is what you need: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html#binary_codecs Then look at this part of the xine FAQ to find out how to install them for xine: http://xinehq.de/index.php/faq#WMV And apologies if I've totally misunderstood your needs and have just told you a load of gibberish.
