Xine engine problem MDV2008

Hi All
I've posted this to the Mandriva expert list, but I doubt if I'll get a reply.

So I've cross posted a section of it here as well.

I loaded Kaffeine after all other packages were loaded so as not to interfere with its config.
I was using the plf Kaffeine package, So I' disabled the plf sources and loaded the mdv version.
But still no DVB capability.
Enabling the DVB client gives an error message of "cant bind to socket"

lspci -v shows the card is there and recognised:-

Starting Xine and clicking on the DVB button produces the error message

Input plugin failed to open mrl "Sorry no DVB input device found"
and as I started xine from a terminal there was also this:-

I'm really stuck with this.
I've tried a complete reload of MDV2008 several times, and both Kaffeine and xine  function in DVB mode, then without reason.

I've started Kaffeine from a terminal and get these error messages:-

Both Xine and Kaffeine say no DVB device found, but its definitely there..


Any ideas how to get round this please ?
