About Schrödinger (Dirac) codecs

Does anyone knows is there are plans to support the Schrödinger video codec (http://schrodinger.sourceforge.net/) in Xine? For all I have read it offers improved video quality (image/motion and compression ratios) over MPEG4 codecs, and is completly royalte free, even for commercial purposes. The schrödinger codec reached stable 1.0 releasa about a month ago, after years of development. Stil I have found not much info in press media. Regards!
