set playback speed

Hi,

I'm trying the to set the playback speed beforehand, as I want to view a clip 
in slow-motion from the beginning.  First I tried:

 $ xine -S session=0,playlist=slow2 clip.mpg

It played at normal speed.  Then I launched an instance of xine first, in 
order to make sure there is a Session 0.  But then the above command resulted 
in these two error messages:

1:
 - xine engine error -
There is no plugin available to handle 'clip.mpg'
Maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source doesn't exist

2:
The specified mrl is not found.  Please check it twice. (clip.mpg)


xine v0.99.4 on Kubuntu Linux.
