Works here in a Debian unstable chroot (libjack-dev bugginess aside); the
only significant difference wrt ffmpeg is that libavcodec-dev etc. are
slightly newer (same upstream snapshot). It's also buildable against the
version in experimental.

Some information about what ffmpeg packages or snapshot you're using may
help...
